Recruiting
Finally and maybe most importantly, you need to enlist the support of your closest advisors – your family. The family is critical in helping a campaign on the local level. If the family is not fully supportive of the campaign, it may be a long road to the election.
Members of your family are an excellent resource for doing the work necessary for the campaign. For example, the candidate’s spouse is usually an excellent fundraiser. A donor is often just as willing to donate to a candidate’s spouse as the candidate. They can also help you chose and design campaign yard signs.
